BURUNDI: DOCUMENTARY FOR SOS CHILDREN'S VILLAGES BELGIUM
Documentary — Field production

In July 2026, I traveled to Gitega and Muyinga, Burundi, to film testimonies for SOS Children's Villages Belgium.

Over six days, we met families living through circumstances most of us will never fully understand, families raising children with almost nothing, and still building something worth being proud of. No electricity, no running water, no real bed. But pride in every chair built by hand, and in every story shared.

The goal was simple: let people speak in their own words, and let the film carry that honesty through to the people supporting them from thousands of kilometers away.

This project meant working across languages and cultures, coordinating translation from Kirundi to French and English, building trust before the camera ever came out, and capturing testimonies that needed to feel true, not staged.
