About me
Soul van Schaik
I’m Soul, a Dutch-Indonesian filmmaker based in Antwerp, Belgium. Film has been my passion for as long as I can remember—it's how I explore stories, emotions, and the unseen beauty of the world. I studied film for three years and worked full-time in the media industry, gaining experience in studio recordings, large multi-camera events, and film installations in museums. I’ve also done a lot of video editing and created visuals for events. My work takes me across Europe and beyond, from artistic films to commercial projects, always with a strong focus on cinematic storytelling.
Last year, I filmed a documentary in the Atlas Mountains of Morocco—an experience that further shaped my perspective on filmmaking. Even though I’m dyslexic as hell, that has never stopped me from bringing my creative vision to life. I work instinctively and visually, always looking for new ways to blend film and art.
With a deep fascination for imagery and emotion, I’m excited for the future—ready to create even more immersive and visually compelling stories.
